Employment Information

Then KITTCOM (Kittitas County 9-1-1) has the career for you!

KITTCOM is hiring 2 Emergency Services Dispatchers (ESD).  As an ESD you will have a great benefits package which includes medical, dental and vision coverage, enrollment in the Washington State retirement system and opportunities for ongoing training.

Pay and Benefits:
Starting pay is $2,790 per month. Candidates with recent experience as a public safety dispatcher may be offered a higher starting salary. New employees work 40 hour weeks while training. After initial training is complete (from 7 to 10 months) employees change to a 42 hour workweek with automatic overtime and pay increases to $2,952 per month, with additional raises per the Union contract with General Teamsters Local 760.  KITTCOM offers medical, dental and vision benefits for employees and their dependents.

In order to qualify you: 

Must have integrity beyond reproach, you can not have any disqualifying criminal history or drug use;

Must be at least 18 years of age;

Have a high school diploma or G.E.D.

Have the ability to type at least 30 words per minute; and

Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and widely varying hours.

Testing Registration Deadline: 
• Your completed registration must be received by Wednesday, January 18, 2011 at 5 pm.

       By FAX - 509 925 8540, be sure to call the business phone line, 509-925-8534, to let staff know to expect your registration form by fax.

       IN PERSON – Stop by KITTCOM, 700 Elmview Road, Ellensburg, WA 98926.  At the front door, to the left is a callbox, press the button once and wait for on duty staff to answer.

After you submit your registration, the next step is to attend the testing session on Saturday, January 21, 2012, see information below.


Press Test:  This test is based on the "Stroop effect." 
• Date & Time: - Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 9 am
• First Test Location:  Kittitas County Events Center, 512 North Poplar Street, Ellensburg, WA 98926 in the Manastash Room, Ellensburg, WA 98926      

If you pass the Press Test, you will be offered the opportunity to participate in the second test (Criticall).

Criticall Test:  This test will cost $10.00 to participate and will be collected prior to testing, cash or check will be accepted. 
• Date & Time: Saturday, January 21, 2012 beginning at 10:15 am
• Second Test Location:  700 Elmview Road, Ellensburg, WA 98926  

If you pass the Criticall Test you will be offered an interview
