Employment Information

Then KITTCOM (Kittitas County 9-1-1) has the career for you!

KITTCOM is currently not hiring. 

As an ESD you will have a great benefits package which includes medical, dental and vision coverage, enrollment in the Washington State retirement system and opportunities for ongoing training.

Pay and Benefits:
Starting pay is $2,790 per month. Candidates with recent experience as a public safety dispatcher may be offered a higher starting salary. New employees work 40 hour weeks while training. After initial training is complete (from 7 to 10 months) employees change to a 42 hour workweek with automatic overtime and pay increases to $2,952 per month, with additional raises per the Union contract with General Teamsters Local 760.  KITTCOM offers medical, dental and vision benefits for employees and their dependents.  Employees pay a monthly fee of $97.35 towards their benefits.

In order to qualify you: 

Must have integrity beyond reproach, you can not have any disqualifying criminal history or drug use;

Must be at least 18 years of age;

Have a high school diploma or G.E.D.

Have the ability to type at least 30 words per minute; and

Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and widely varying hours.


Press Test:  This test is based on the "Stroop effect." 
 

Criticall Test:  This a test which simulates a call taking and dispatch environment and takes approximately 2 hours.  You will be scheduled for this test if you pass the Press test.
